| I think its a little to strict tbh.
Need to give the modders some air to work how they want on their cars.

| I think the rules are pretty fair. Nvm the polycount but taking the screenshots from Zmodeler will give more equal chance to everybody and more realistic judgement (i.e. one is a render in Zmod and another in a program with buitin renderer like 3d max or sth of sort.) Now i got my modeling motivation, sign me in | |

| Here's my explanation of few things:
- the screenshot MUST be taken from Zmod, because anyone who's got 3D Max, XSI or similiar modeling software can make incredible looking renders to show off their model, while we Zmod users (and there's plenty of us on this forum) are tied to just basic screenshots.
- 35k limit. Don't you want to see your car in many games? For example mentioned NFSHP2 doesn't work well with cars that are over 35k.
- textures: well, i chose these dimensions because i thought people would like to see it in NFSHP2. But we can change that on 3 textures in total, it's just that you won't see your car in that mentioned game.
A rule that can be scrapped now:
- a must have interior - depends on you now, so if you want to save some polygons on the interior, do as you wish, but remember it won't look as good as with one

and what if some Max user dont use Zmod ? they are just gonna send to someone with Zmod ? aint that like showing it to others before time ?

| Great idea about this contents, and I could participate, but... I'm to lazy to finish something to a limited period, so I wont. And I'm complitely agree that final pics must be made with simple rendering, couse if someone will make photorealistic pisc for example in 3dmax it'll defenetly look better than any Zmod pics and its unfare, I think all pics must be almost the same, so it would be easer to choose the best model. | |

After everyone will be pleased with the rules i guess... Only thing i didn't like changing was the number of textures. If a person uses more textures than two (1 for body and 1 for wheels), it can't be converted to NFSHP2. For example i'll use only two textures, one 1024x1024 for body and 512x512 for wheels.

| Nice idea for a contest, suits my taste pretty well. I may participate, but I can't fit in several rules, like the poly limit and textures count. I suggest the rules that are specific for a particular game, to be optional. After all one of the notes states that it's up to the creator whether his car will be converted. Other than that I will give it a try, prolly with a Gallardo model. | |

Other than that I will give it a try, prolly with a Gallardo model. Polylimit is not that hard to keep when you won't waste polygons. And i changed the texture rules in latest rules revision (posted by Salim on bottom of page 1), they are now three 1024x1024 textures, that's IMO too much seeing as i always found 1024x1024 + 512x512 textures enough for a game model looked at from 3rd person view, but to each his own i guess.

| I'm in,not decided on which model I will do,but will probably be an older Lambo,or the new Estoque, and I'm also using,in generally 10 to 20 textures, since I model for Gta,where every inch of the model is visible, using 2 textures means that I need to uv map everything,so more time lost, but I'll see what I can do. | |
