[Lamborghini Contest] 1999 Lamborghini Canto

Hello everyone, I am Jose Arnaldo of MM2BR (Brazilian Community of MM2), saw a topic on the forum MM2C about this contest and I am interested in participating, my models are usually low / mid-poly then I guess I will not have problems with the limit of polygons, my biggest challenge will be to find references to develop my project, the Lamborghini Canto.

For now just a "shadow" interior(only the base with black texture) because I don't know much about the interior of this model, but maybe I make one based on the interior of the Diablo.

The Italdesign Cala was my second choice for this contest, but I chose the Canto cause I have not seen any model of it for games.


I have not done much progress in the model, but there are some sshots...



I still have a lot to work on the model, especially in polyplacement and normals.

I am going very slowly with the progress, but I will do my best to end before the end of the contest, and even that did not finish on time, for sure I will complete the model, the Canto is a model that I always wanted to take in some game But I never dared to try to do so, at least until then....


Little progress since the last update, I think this week I finished the body, and then get the details and texturing.

I forgot to post here.

Today I have bad news.

Stay out of the competition, because I could not complete the model as a failure of the Zmodeler prevented me.

The bug occurred on 2 January 2009, when I open the file with the Lamborghini I encounter the following screen.

The Zmodeler not saved the file leaving him completely corrupted, the file was only 1.25 kb when it should be at least 34.3 kb (the size of the backup of the day 24/12/2008).

I tried to recover the file in every way possible, primarily using the AutoSave of Zmodeler, but it was also corrupt, and to "cooperate" the Zmodeler not created the .bak file that is usually done when saving a file that already exists.


This had happened other times with my models, but never with a model almost ready, I have the last backup of the model is outside the main file of 24 December 2008, far from its final version.


But even if not participating in the competition, I will finalize the model, but now I will shape without hurry in February or March the model should be ready.

I've never had this problem but I remember some strange bugs with ZM1 ... From time to time I make a backup of my work in progress to avoid this kind of problem (USB key, FTP backup and so on).

experience the same problem but some other bugs failed my
work. Anyway Good luck with the work from now on.

Well.. ZMod sucks. I use ZModeler2, and it crashed 8 times for me today. I'm really thinking of learning MAX, cause this shit... is shit.

I always make backups, but I was not worry about this because of the short time of development of the model.

In tests I did, 10 times that saved files were corrupted 3, to correct the problem had to reinstall the Zmodeler, which now seems to be working correctly.

From now on I will move to check the files after being saved, only then to avoid that happening again.

I delete the corrupted file, but maybe I have it on another computer, then tried to open the file of the whole way, even using a hex editor to copy the "useful" to a new file.

If I find the file on my other computer I can send you for sure, it would be great if you could recover the files
